The right to be informed - Kate Sanderson school of dance collects students name, date of birth, relevant medical/health conditions, exam results and ID numbers, parent/guardians name, email address, phone number and home address along with two emergency contact telephone numbers for each student. This data is stored on a password protected, encrypted phone, computer and Ipad and is backed up to an external hard drive stored at the office address. Registration forms, accident reports and safeguarding concern reports are also stored in a locked filing cabinet at the office address for up to six years, after which time they are shredded.
The right of access An individual can make a request relating to their data at any time and Kate Sanderson School of Dance will need to provide a response within 1 month. Kate Sanderson School of Dance can refuse a request, if we have a lawful obligation to retain data but we will inform the individual of the reasons for the rejection.
The right to rectification
The right to erasure You have the right to request the deletion of your data where there is no compelling reason for its continued use. However, Kate Sanderson School of Dance has a legal duty to keep student and parents’ details for a reasonable time. At any point you can contact us to delete your information. If minors (under 16 years) would like to attend our classes and we are not given an emergency contact, a parent/guardian will need to remain onsite throughout the class for safety reasons. Parents will also need to frequently visit the website and/or Facebook page for information regarding updates and news such as any rare class cancellations.

The right to data portability Kate Sanderson school of Dance requires data is required to provide students data to RAD to be able to enter students for exams. In this case recipients use secure file transfer systems and have their own policies and procedures in place in relation to GDPR.

6 Photography And Media
As a dance school, we frequently take photos and videos during our classes and performances for promotional use, performance programmes, on our website and on our social media accounts. Names will not be displayed along with the images. You will be asked to sign a media release form upon registration. You can withdraw this consent at any time by contacting us.
